Luciana Valente, Creator of olguitas™
Originally from Buenos Aires, Luciana Valente decided to bring olguitas™ to the U.S. after seeing these sandals all over the trendy boulevards of the fashionable South American city. As a busy wife and mother, Luciana, now a resident of Los Angeles, created olguitas™ as a way to stay connected to the pulse of design and fashion in Argentina.
"The idea of olguitas™ was born from the desire to create an at-home business, that focused on my love of fashion--while allowing me to stay at home with the baby," says Luciana. "The inspiration for olguitas™ came directly from the streets of Buenos Aires, where these open-toed flip flop sandal were the hottest trend. The look of olguitas™ is the Buenos Aires that I know and love---chic, street-smart, comfortable and always playful. And always moving progressively in fashion and design."
Based in Los Angeles, olguitas™ is the latest fashion venture for Luciana and her husband Rene. Luciana plans to slowly expand the olguitas™ line in the future and to keep being inspired by international design. When not exploring art galleries in Echo Park or hanging out at favorite cafes in Atwater Village, Luciana keeps busy by chasing their two-year old boy Benito all over toddler-friendly parks and museums in Los Angeles.
